My apologies for not updating this web page
for you over the past two weeks. Since I switched the service which
carries this website, I have been confounded on why I could not publish
updated versions of it. I do hope that those problems are behind me,
but please be patient with me if they are not. For four five years I
have used a classroom web page to communicate with parents and students,
and when it works, it is a powerful tool.
Students:
Next week (September 29 - October 3) we
will begin to closely examine the political and economic system of the
South and compare it to what we now know about the North. By midweek
we will have a quiz on the North and facts we should know about
it. Some terms to think about are:

3) bread and butter
issues
4) Workingman's party
5) Effects of the War of
1812
6) Missouri Compromise of
1820
7) importance of
transportation systems like the Erie Canal
8) Manifest Destiny
