Parents:

Recently, as the nice weather has approached us, there has been a general decline in student performance in my classes. (I will speak for my class only.)   Many students are now completing homework assignments and essays for me in tutorials and during activity periods, much to their displeasure, and depending on how late, they may not even be doing it for credit but because I deem it necessary to their passing the final exam in May and June (see next note).   

Students understand that the first five weeks count much more heavily than the last five weeks of this quarter, and that now is the time to work their hardest.  Any assistance you can offer will be appreciated.

Parents:

A field trip permission slip will be coming home this week with a Social Studies grade report.  Both require your attention and signature.  Please indicate if you are interested in chaperoning our May 23rd Field trip to Lake George.  

Parents:

Final dates for the 7th grade final have not been verified, but it appears that the DBQ portion will be given in the month of May, and the multiple Choice portion given in June.  We have recently worked hard on a "Causes of the Revolutionary War" DBQ essay.  It will come home for a parent signature soon.  

Students:

This week we will continue to study events of the Revolutionary War as homework while we examine the Declaration of Independence in class.  A quiz will be given three times this week on each section of Chapter 6 homework as it comes due.  Be sure to read and not just hunt and pack for answers.  A Chapter 6 test will be given next week on Monday and Tuesday.
