Parents:

The DBQ Essay portion of the 7th Grade final exam will be given this week over a three day period.

On Wednesday and Thursday blocks, each class will be given 45 minutes to answer the document questions and sketch an outline for the essay.  On Friday, May 20th, every student will write the essay in a 45 minute class.  No extensions will be given to students who are in attendance unless special testing circumstances already exist

There is no way to prepare for this essay as the topic will be unknown to students in advance of the test.  Monday and Tuesday's block classes will focus on previously written work and how to improve their personal writing standards.

The Multiple Choice portion of the test will be given on June 16th from9am - 10:30am.  Review classes will be held prior to that portion of the test.

Parents:

Monday is the last day to return a field trip permission slip with $50 payment made out to FMS.  Thank you to all parents who volunteered to chaperone.  After Wednesday we should have a clearer idea of how much bus seating we have, and how many chaperones we can accommodate.   You will be contacted by phone if you have volunteered to chaperone.  We hope we have room for all volunteers!

Parents:

Interim reports will go home on Friday, May 20th.  Please have the envelopes returned promptly.

Students:

This week we will focus on DBQ's, but next week we will continue our study of the US Constitution.  After learning about the compromises needed to create the document, we next turn to the fight to get it ratified.  You can look ahead in Chapter 7 if you are just dying to know what happened!
