Parents:
Thank
you for your wonderful comments concerning the new format I am
employing with students in my class.
As
many of you have observed, it is pleasurable to look the workload
over in advance and decide a goal together with your child, and then
monitor progress as the unit proceeds.
The
reaction of students has been overwhelmingly positive because much
more of their class time is spent working toward goals that are
concrete, and I am usually available for them to ask
questions. Lecture time has also been reduced to major themes
which are often abstract and require explanation.
I
plan to continue using unit sheets such as the two you have seen,
and I hope that you will continue to supervise your child's work
from home. If you have not yet begun to do so, you can
print a copy f your child's current unit sheet from this
website. See the links in the center of this page, or
visit the "Unit by Unit" page, and click on the
appropriate unit.
Students:
The
Unit Test will be Wednesday, April 5th. All classes will meet and
test that day. Please use the review game and practice test when it
appears on line this weekend. Also, use the notes I have
provided. You can print typed copies of the lecture notes you wrote
in class by looking for those links in the center of the page.
