Parents:
The Midterm Unit
is here, and now is the time for students to review the last 20 weeks of
learning and take a midterm exam on Tuesday, February
13th. The date was moved forward to accommodate other
team activities.
The review is
divided into three parts. The test is being reviewed by students with a 40
question worksheet. They can look up answers in books, their files,
or see me for help.
The second part is
writing a DBQ essay. I have helped them to organize the essay and
documents. I will even give feedback on their rough drafts before
the final draft is written. They get credit for all of this open
book and teacher assisted work. The only part they will do on their
own is the 46 multiple choice question test.
The last part is a
portfolio review. Students go through their past units and
write about their best work, discuss how they might have improved it, and
set goals for the next 1/2 year.
